What is child
labour?
Child labour is the exploitation of children, they are tricked
out of their childhood for the work that makes them unable to attend a school
or studying so that they can have a brighter future. This can cause physical,
mental and social harm to children at such young age. Usually, age groups from
5-17 are trapped in this.
At such young age, they are getting health issues due to workload
and the type of work they do. Boys are more likely to be working than that of
girls in this age group. According to ILO estimation, it is concluded that more
than 20,000 child labour are killed in a year, as they become vulnerable to injuries.
Problems
causing child labour.
The main problems that cause child labour in countries are:
-
1.
Family Poverty
2.
Lack of access to quality education
3.
Natural disasters
4.
High unemployment levels
Poverty is the major reason for child labour and child begging.
Families are unable to afford food 2 times a day.
Ultimately it breeds a lack of access to education in children
as they are bonded to work for a living. Natural disasters or pandemics like
COVID-19 makes their conditions even worse, deaths caused by such disaster are
usually higher than that as figures states. As no one cares that’s the harsh
truth.
Unemployment rates are increasing day by day because of such
pandemics and epidemics hence breeding poverty and child labour.

children to realise their own rights. Child labour is a fact of life for every children
and it is an issue that effect of all us in many countries. We must contribute to stopping child labour otherwise these campaigns are useless. Schools
are the best place to teach children about child labour or any type of work which
makes poor children vulnerable to physical, mental and social states at risk.
Children’s quality education and development should not get affected anymore.
